Great Oakley Brewery

Welcome to the Great Oakley Brewery.

Founded by Mike Evans and Phil Greenway in 2005, the Great Oakley Brewery is a five-barrel plant located in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside at Bridge Farm, Great Oakley (near Corby).

The brewery regularly produces seven traditional beers plus an occasional 'special' event or seasonal ale. See "Our Beers" for more information.

For the 3rd Delapre Abbey Beer Festival we brewed a 4.5%, ruby coloured special ale, the name of which we withheld until the first night of the festival (Thursday 29th May 2008) It turned out to be 'Shirty's Festival Special'! To find out more go to the 'Our Beers' page!

Personal Sales - beer at home! 35 pint polypins for £49

Ideal for parties and special occasions, with just 24 hours notice our beers can be suppied in 35 pint polypins at just £49 each (that's just £1.40 a pint). These can be ordered at the bar at the Malt Shovel Tavern (our 'brewery tap' pub located in Northampton). Alternatively you can use the form on our 'Contact us' page or you can telephone. When ready, the beer can be picked up from the pub. If you would like a local delivery then please telephone to see if you are within our local delivery catchment area.

Available now - our beers in bottles!

You can now buy Wot's Occurring, Gobble and Delapre Dark in bottles! They are available from the Malt Shovel Tavern, Northampton. A single bottle is £2, a box of three is £6 (you can have all one beer if you don't want a variety pack!) and a case of 12 bottles (any mix) is £20. Small quantities are available on demand but for cases and larger amounts it is advisable to pre-order to avoid disappointment.

Where to get our beers

We now have two pubs that serve our beers as part of their permanent range:

First is the award winning "Malt Shovel Tavern" in Northampton.

In addition to the Great Oakley brews, the pub serves a large range of guest ales, Belgian beers and other favourites. It also has live Blues music on Wednesdays and serves good food Monday - Saturday lunchtimes.

Our other main outlet is the "Hatton Arms" at Gretton. It stocks our beers on a permanent basis. The Hatton Arms is believed to be the second oldest pub in Northamptonshire and is steeped in history. Originally built as a gatehouse to Kirby Hall, the ancient oak beams, stone walls, floors and open fireplaces all add to its charm and character. Its present owners, Carl and Lisa Butler, sympathetically refurbished the pub in 2004 and built the Hatton Restaurant to the rear.

Our beers can also be found from time to time in pubs in and around Norhamptonshire and at beer festivals around the country.
