Where to buy our beers

The main outlet for our beers is our 'brewery tap', the Malt Shovel Tavern in Northampton but the list is growing.

Beer at Home - Polypins & Casks

Having a party? We can supply you with a 35 pint polypin or 9 gallon cask of any of our beers.

35-pint Polypins are just £60 inc VAT (only around £1.71 a pint).

9-gallon casks (complete with tap and chocks) are only £87 inc VAT (that's only around £1.21 a pint!)

PLEASE NOTE: These beers can be supplied 'with sediment' or 'bright'. To avoid disappointment, please read the notes below and discuss your requirements with us before deciding on which to order.

Beers with sediment need to stand in-situ for 24 hours before they can be used and should not then be disturbed. They will keep in good condition for 7-10 days if temperatures do not fluctuate too much.

Bright beers are ready to use immediately and will keep for about 3-4 days.

Beer at Home - Bottles

You can now buy Gobble, Wot's Occurring, Tailshaker and Delapre Dark in bottles. They are available from the Malt Shovel Tavern, Northampton and a number of other selected outlets. Contact us for details of where you can get our bottled beers. Small quantities are normally available on demand but for cases and larger amounts it is advisable to pre-order to avoid disappointment.

Celebrating our move!

To celebrate our move to Ark Farm in Tiffield, Northamptonshire we have brewed "Golden Ark" (named by the locals in The George). Read more on our Special Ales page.

October 2011 saw more awards for Great Oakley Brewery

'Gobble takes Gold in the Premium Bitter class and is Overall Champion at the SIBA Midlands Beer Competition in Nottingham, October 2011'

Yes, we've done it again, picking up three individual awards for our beers and winning the overall champion Gold Award at the Nottingham Beer Festival in October 2011.

Our awards were:

'Gobble', Gold in the premium Bitter class and overall competition winner.

'Oakley Blonde', Bronze in the Speciality Beers section.

'Delapre Dark', Bronze in the Bottled Porters, Milds, Old Ales and Stouts section.

As always we were up against some stiff opposition, with 95 judges selecting the winners from 244 cask and 68 bottled beers.

About the brewery

After 7 years at the Great Oakley location, husband and wife team Phil and Hazel Greenway now operate their five-barrel plant from a new rural location in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside at Tiffield.

It is an exciting new challenge but one thing is for sure; the name hasn't changed and the beers will be as good as ever, no doubt continuing to win awards at major events across the country!
